Job summary

Engtal, partnering with an award-winning general contractor across Ohio, is seeking a safety-lead to champion a proactive safety culture on commercial construction projects. This role focuses on site inspections, audits, and site-specific safety plans, ensuring OSHA 1926 compliance and strong field-team collaboration.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction safety, experience with ground-up or large-scale projects, and a hands-on, relationship-driven approach to safety leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience, ideally with a commercial general contractor.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 regulations and construction safety practices.
• Experience supporting ground-up construction, renovations, or large-scale commercial projects.
• A hands-on, relationship-driven safety professional who enjoys working closely with field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a proactive safety culture across commercial construction projects.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
• Develop and maintain site-specific safety plans, JHAs, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Partner with Superintendents, Project Managers, and subcontractors to maintain safe jobsite operations.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and corrective action planning.
