Job summary

The Health & Safety Manager position at M.J. Nester Specialty Contractors is based in Pottstown, PA, with regular site and shop visits. You will own the safety program, lead training, audits, incident investigations, OSHA recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance across field and shop operations.

You will enforce stop-work authority when needed and coach foremen/project managers on safety leadership, reporting to the Director of Business Operations.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of safety experience in construction, industrial services, or a plant environment.
• OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500, CHST, or CSP preferred.
• Experience with safety qualification platforms (ISNetworld/Avetta) and site-rule compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own the safety program, policies, and procedures across field and shop operations.
• Deliver training (OSHA 10/30, powered industrial truck, lockout/tagout, first aid) and maintain currency.
• Conduct regular audits, enforce site rules, and stop work when unsafe conditions exist.
• Coordinate incident investigations, OSHA records, and workers' compensation processes.
• Manage regulatory compliance, customer-specific requirements, and safety reporting.
