Job summary

County Materials Family of Companies in Marathon, WI, is seeking a Safety Intern to support the safety department in implementing and maintaining safety protocols. You will work with Operations to ensure a safe work environment and provide administrative support with field exposure opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: maintain safety records, coordinate training, assist audits, support incident investigations, and help develop emergency plans while promoting a culture of safety across the site.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in safety-focused coursework.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in using basic office software and comfortable learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety records and assist with manuals, guidelines, and training materials.
• Coordinate new-hire safety training, develop materials, and track participation.
• Conduct safety inspections, address hazards with Operations, and assist audits.
• Assist in incident investigations, gathering information for reporting and analysis.
• Support development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills.
• Communicate safety policies and updates to team members and promote a culture of safety.
• Compile and analyze safety data to identify trends and prepare management reports.
• Stay informed about safety regulations and assist in regulatory reporting.
