County Materials Family of Companies is seeking a Safety Intern to support the safety department in Marathon, WI. You will help implement safety protocols, maintain records, assist with training, and help promote a culture of safety across the organization.

The role emphasizes administrative support, field exposure, and collaboration with Operations to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This internship provides hands-on experience in safety practices and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in safety-focused coursework.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in using basic office software and comfortable learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate safety records and assist with safety manuals, guidelines, and training materials.
• Coordinate new-hire safety training, develop materials and presentations, and track employee participation.
• Conduct safety inspections, work with Operations to address hazards, and assist with internal and external audits.
• Assist in the investigation of incidents, gathering relevant information for reporting and analysis.
• Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans by coordinating drills and exercises to ensure team members are familiar with emergency procedures.
• Communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates to team members and assist in promoting a culture of safety through regular communication and awareness campaigns.
• Compile and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement and generate reports for management regarding safety performance and compliance.
• Stay informed about relevant safety regulations and ensure the organization's compliance and assist in the preparation of regulatory reports.
