Job summary

AEP in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Safety & Health Coordinator to advise management on S&H event policies and procedures and to coordinate safety programs across the site.

You will conduct safety observations, review contractor safety practices, and promote the company's S&H programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Travel may be required and a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in safety/health or related field, or equivalent electric utility experience.
• 4 years experience in S&H or electric utility operations.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, advise, and assist in carrying out the Company's safety and health and event prevention programs, policies and procedures.
• Prepare and advise on the use of programs and materials for meetings and conferences in S&H event prevention.
• Conduct observations of personnel, tools, equipment and work practices to ensure safe procedures.
• Advise and assist in S&H event analysis and serve as a resource to the event analysis committee.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations.
• Review and assist with contractor safety adherence inspections.
• Promote and enforce the Company's S&H event Prevention and Safety and Health programs.
