Job summary

Copeland LP seeks a hands-on Safety and Health Leader for our Forney, TX distribution facility. You will drive health and safety initiatives across high-volume operations, focusing on forklift safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of safety management experience in distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, forklift safety standards, and incident investigation protocols.
• Proven experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and coach across all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs aligned with OSHA standards and company goals
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the facility, including forklift operations and material handling zones
• Lead and facilitate safety training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation, forklift certification, hazard communication, and emergency response
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; prepare detailed reports and root cause analyses; implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with operations leadership to ensure safe work practices and ergonomic improvements
• Maintain accurate safety records, training logs, and compliance documentation
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and internal safety committees
• Promote a culture of safety through employee engagement, recognition programs, and continuous education
• Manage PPE inventory, signage, and safety equipment to ensure readiness and availability
• Support other duties and projects, as assigned, to enhance safety and operational excellence
