Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Safety & Health Field Coordinator to manage a comprehensive safety program for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.

The role collaborates with the Safety & Health Department, project managers, superintendents, and craft personnel to promote safe practices and conditions. The candidate will conduct orientations, safety meetings, audits, and investigations while supporting continuous improvement and safety coaching across field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management or related field.
• 5–10 years of construction safety experience.
• Experience working with IBEW union craft personnel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling and delivering on-site safety orientation for new hires.
• Coordinate on-site safety meetings and conduct safety training.
• Support incident investigation efforts.
• Conduct and document on-site safety audits and provide safety technical support.
• Maintain and report safety recordkeeping and documentation.
• Promote proactive safety activities by observing, analyzing, and correcting unsafe conditions.
• Integrate safety into project plans, establish safety goals, and monitor safety metrics.
• Coach and support supervisors and employees on safety practices.
• Provide feedback to encourage learning and monitor safety compliance.

About this Role - Safety & Health Coordinator

We are looking for a talented Safety & Health Field Coordinator who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for transmission, distribution, and substation work. The Field Safety Coordinator will work closely with the Safety & Health Department, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions.

What You'll Do

• Assistance with new hire general safety orientation
• Coordination of on-site safety meetings and conducting safety training
• Supporting incident investigation efforts
• Conducting and documenting on-site safety audits and providing safety technical support
• Recordkeeping and reporting
• Promoting proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions
• Integrating safety into project plans, establishing safety goals, reinforcing safety policies and procedures, monitoring safety metrics
• Supporting and coaching supervisors and employees
• Providing feedback to encourage learning, monitoring safety compliance and creating awareness
• Setting priorities that focus on continuous improvement

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated ability to work with IBEW union craft personnel
• Strong interpersonal skills are a must
• Due to the nature of this position, extensive travel is required
• Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5-10 years of construction safety experience
