Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Safety & Health Field Coordinator to manage a comprehensive safety program for transmission, distribution, and substation work. You will collaborate with the Safety & Health Dept, Project Managers, and field crews to promote safe work practices and conditions.

This role requires 5–10 years in construction safety, a relevant degree, and willingness to travel. The position offers strong benefits and opportunities for growth within a leading utility contractor.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of construction safety experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred.
• Willing to travel extensively.
• Experience with IBEW union craft personnel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safety orientation for new hires.
• Coordinate on-site safety meetings and trainings.
• Support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Conduct and document on-site safety audits; provide technical safety support.
• Maintain safety records and generate regular reports.
• Promote proactive safety activities and safe work behaviors.
• Integrate safety into project plans and monitor metrics.
• Coach supervisors and craft personnel on safety practices.
• Provide feedback to foster learning and compliance.
• Set priorities for continuous safety improvement.

About this Role – Safety & Health Coordinator

We are looking for a talented Safety & Health Field Coordinator who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for transmission, distribution, and substation work.The Field Safety Coordinator will work closely with the Safety & Health Department, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions.

What You’ll Do

• Assistance with new hire general safety orientation


• Coordination of on-site safety meetings and conducting safety training


• Supporting incident investigation efforts


• Conducting and documenting on-site safety audits and providing safety technical support


• Recordkeeping and reporting


• Promoting proactive and preventive safety activitiesby observing,analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviorsandcorrecting unsafe conditions


• Integrating safety intoproject plans, establishing safety goals,reinforcing safety policies and procedures, monitoring safety metrics


• Supporting and coaching supervisors and employees


• Providing feedback to encourage learning, monitoring safety compliance and creating awareness


• Setting priorities that focus on continuous improvement

What You’ll Bring

• Due to the nature of this position, extensive travel is required


• Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered.
