Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Safety & Health Field Coordinator to manage a comprehensive safety program for transmission, distribution and substation work.

You will collaborate with the Safety & Health Department, project managers, superintendents, and craft personnel to promote safe practices and conditions. The role emphasizes safety integration into project plans, incident investigations, trainings, and proactive safety activities across active sites, with significant travel required to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5-10 years of construction safety experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with IBEW union craft personnel.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Extensive travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safety program administration and management.
• Coordinate on-site safety meetings and training sessions.
• Support incident investigation efforts and root-cause analysis.
• Conduct on-site safety audits and provide technical safety support.
• Maintain records and safety reporting.
• Promote proactive safety activities and safe work behaviors.
• Integrate safety into project plans and monitor safety metrics.
• Provide coaching to supervisors and craft personnel.
• Support continuous improvement of safety programs.

About this Role – Safety & Health Coordinator

We are looking for a talented Safety & Health Field Coordinator who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for transmission, distribution, and substation work.The Field Safety Coordinator will work closely with the Safety & Health Department, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions.

What You’ll Do

• Assistance with new hire general safety orientation


• Coordination of on-site safety meetings and conducting safety training


• Supporting incident investigation efforts


• Conducting and documenting on-site safety audits and providing safety technical support


• Recordkeeping and reporting


• Promoting proactive and preventive safety activitiesby observing,analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviorsandcorrecting unsafe conditions


• Integrating safety intoproject plans, establishing safety goals,reinforcing safety policies and procedures, monitoring safety metrics


• Supporting and coaching supervisors and employees


• Providing feedback to encourage learning, monitoring safety compliance and creating awareness


• Setting priorities that focus on continuous improvement
