Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Safety & Health Field Coordinator who will administer a comprehensive safety management system for transmission, distribution, and substation work.

The coordinator will work closely with the Safety & Health Department, Project Managers, Superintendents and craft personnel to promote safe work practices. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health (or Construction Management) with 5–10 years of construction safety experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred or related field experience.
• 5–10 years of construction safety experience.
• Ability to work with IBEW union craft personnel.
• Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
• Extensive travel is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Administer a comprehensive safety management system for transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
• Promote safe work practices and conditions with project teams.
• Coordinate on-site safety meetings and safety training.
• Support incident investigations and document findings.
• Conduct on-site safety audits and provide technical safety support.
• Recordkeeping and reporting of safety metrics.
• Integrate safety into project plans and set safety goals.
• Coach supervisors and craft personnel on safety best practices.
• Provide feedback to reinforce learning and awareness.
• Prioritize continuous safety improvements across projects.

About this Role - Safety & Health Coordinator

We are looking for a talented Safety & Health Field Coordinator who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for transmission, distribution, and substation work. The Field Safety Coordinator will work closely with the Safety & Health Department, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions.

What You'll Do

• Assistance with new hire general safety orientation
• Coordination of on-site safety meetings and conducting safety training
• Supporting incident investigation efforts
• Conducting and documenting on-site safety audits and providing safety technical support
• Recordkeeping and reporting
• Promoting proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions
• Integrating safety into project plans, establishing safety goals, reinforcing safety policies and procedures, monitoring safety metrics
• Supporting and coaching supervisors and employees
• Providing feedback to encourage learning, monitoring safety compliance and creating awareness
• Setting priorities that focus on continuous improvement

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated ability to work with IBEW union craft personnel
• Strong interpersonal skills are a must
• Due to the nature of this position, extensive travel is required
• Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5-10 years of construction safety experience
