M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Safety & Health Field Coordinator to administer a comprehensive safety management system for electrical industrial construction and maintenance.

The role collaborates with the Manager Safety & Health - Industrial, Project Managers, Superintendents and craft personnel to promote safe work practices. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Construction Management (or related field) and 5–10 years of construction safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Construction Management (preferred) or related field.
• 5–10 years of construction safety experience.
• Extensive travel is required.
• Experience working with IBEW union craft personnel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safety orientation for new hires.
• Coordinate on-site safety meetings and trainings.
• Support incident investigations.
• Conduct on-site safety audits and provide technical safety support.
• Handle recordkeeping and reporting.
• Promote proactive safety activities and safe work behaviors.
• Integrate safety into project plans and monitor metrics.
• Coach supervisors and craft personnel.
• Drive continuous safety improvements.

About this Role - Safety & Health Coordinator

We are looking for a talented Safety & Health Field Coordinator who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for electrical industrial construction and maintenance.The Field Safety Coordinator will work closely with the Manager Safety & Health - Industrial, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions.

What You'll Do

• Assistance with new hire general safety orientation
• Coordination of on-site safety meetings and conducting safety training
• Supporting incident investigation efforts
• Conducting and documenting on-site safety audits and providing safety technical support
• Recordkeeping and reporting
• Promoting proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions
• Integrating safety into project plans, establishing safety goals, reinforcing safety policies and procedures, monitoring safety metrics
• Supporting and coaching supervisors and employees
• Providing feedback to encourage learning, monitoring safety compliance and creating awareness
• Setting priorities that focus on continuous improvement

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated ability to work with IBEW union craft personnel
• Strong interpersonal skills are a must
• Due to the nature of this position, extensive travel is required
• Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5-10 years of construction safety experience
