Job summary

PATH is seeking a Safety Support Associate for its Yale Navigation Center in Santa Ana, CA. The role focuses on creating a welcoming, safe environment for guests experiencing homelessness, with responsibilities spanning observation, de-escalation, and coordination with security and case management.

Minimum qualifications welcome all experience levels; preferred candidates have 1 year of experience with vulnerable populations or security.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the interim housing site and build rapport with guests.
• Assist with safety through observation, de-escalation, and ongoing participant engagement.
• Coordinate with case management and security agencies to ensure onsite safety.
• Monitor security systems and conduct rounds; report discrepancies.
• Assist the Associate Director with drafting safety and security documentation.
• Respond to safety concerns or crises using non-violent crisis intervention.
