Job summary

PATH is seeking a Safety Support Associate for the Interim Housing team at Highland Gardens in Los Angeles. You will monitor facilities, engage with participants, and support safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for staff and visitors.

The role requires de-escalation skills and collaboration with case management and security contractors. Full-time, non-exempt, with opportunities for growth and a strong commitment to ending homelessness.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 year experience with vulnerable populations or security contexts.
• Minimum: all levels of experience and education welcome.
• General staff requirements including background check and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Ensure interim housing site safety through observation and de-escalation.
• Coordinate with onsite case management to support the site.
• Coordinate with contracted security to ensure site safety.
• Conduct regular site rounds and report discrepancies.
• Draft documentation on safety and security; respond to crises with non-violent de-escalation.
• Attend meetings and provide input on safety operations.
