Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an Academy Trainer to deliver world-class safety and equipment training. You will serve as a SME in equipment operation and adult learning, partnering with Sales, Operations and customers to tailor programs, drive revenue and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes instructor-led courses, practical evaluations, Train-the-Trainer initiatives and digital learning solutions to improve safety performance and workforce development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 3 years delivering equipment operator, safety, industrial or workforce development training.
• Experience with evaluations, Train-the-Trainer or competency assessments is a plus.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, CSA, MSHA and safety standards preferred.
• Experience operating or training on construction, industrial, material handling or aerial equipment preferred.
• Strong facilitation, presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led safety and equipment operator training programs for customers and employees.
• Conduct evaluations, Train-the-Trainer programs and certifications.
• Use LMS, digital platforms and simulators to enhance learning.
• Identify training opportunities with Sales/Operations to drive revenue.
• Maintain training records, certifications and customer documentation.
• Partner with branch teams to ensure safety and compliance standards.
