Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Engineer II to support the Zero Injury Safety program on construction projects, ensuring a safe environment for crew members, subcontractors, and visitors. The role emphasizes program administration, incident analysis, audits, and OSHA compliance across multiple sites.

The candidate will coordinate safety training, maintain records, and contribute to hazard-control planning while traveling as needed. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or related field.
• OR High school diploma with STS/CHST, OSHA 30 Hour, and 7+ years of construction safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite for team members
• Assist project management team in developing and executing site-specific safety programs and activities
• Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs at the project level
• Document and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.
• Conduct work area safety audits
• Record, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury, and Hazard statistics
• Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements
