Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a passionate Safety Engineer II to implement the Zero Injury Safety program at a project site and ensure a safe work environment for crew, subcontractors, and visitors.

The role requires coordinating safety programs, conducting training, and analyzing safety metrics across sites; travel up to 100% is required and strongest candidates will have a degree in safety or CHST/OSHA 30 with extensive field experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or related field.
• Or HS diploma with STS/CHST/OSHA 30 Hour Training + 7 years construction safety experience.
• Must travel up to 100%.
• Detail-oriented with ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in MS Office and safety-related software.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite for team members.
• Assist project management in developing site-specific safety programs and activities.
• Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs at the project level.
• Document and track safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.
• Conduct work area safety audits.
• Record and analyze safety statistics and incident data.
• Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements.
