Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Safety Engineer to prevent unplanned events and ensure regulatory compliance at a large semiconductor manufacturing site in Idaho.

You will evaluate operations, perform risk assessments, and collaborate with engineers, technicians, and leaders to strengthen safety programs and drive continuous improvement. The role emphasizes safety-by-design reviews, incident investigations, and the development of AI-enabled workflows to identify trends and reduce risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related EHS field.
• Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Support tool installation, construction, and manufacturing activities to ensure EHS requirements and safety standards are effectively implemented.
• Review facility, system, and operational designs to integrate safety-by-design best known methods and verify regulatory compliance.
• Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, inspections, and emergency response activities, including participation in an on-call rotation.
• Develop and deliver safety training, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the site Safety Management System.
• Develop AI-enabled workflows and leverage data analytics tools to identify trends, predict risks, and improve EHS program effectiveness.
