Job summary

PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) is hiring a Safety Support Associate for the Colonial site in Long Beach, CA. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment for staff, participants, and visitors, including crisis response and harm reduction support.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with evening shifts on a Tue–Sat or Sun–Thu schedule. Join PATH to support the Interim Housing team and help ensure safety, access to supplies, and collaboration with case management and security

Responsibilities

• Ensure the interim housing site remains safe for staff, participants, and visitors.
• Engage participants to promote safety and assist with crisis situations.
• Coordinate with case management to support the site.
• Coordinate with security agencies to ensure safety of the site.
• Perform regular rounds and report discrepancies or concerns.
• Assist with drafting safety documentation and correspondence.
• Respond to crises using non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Prepare reports as needed and join required trainings and meetings.
