Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Riverside, CA seeks a Safety Coordinator I to coordinate, facilitate, and supervise the facility's safety programs and initiatives. You will inspect operations, train new hires, lead the Safety Committee, and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.

This role supports incident investigations, forklift training, fire inspections, and maintenance of OSHA logs, while communicating with management, HR, and safety providers to improve workplace safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of safety or woodworking operations experience.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
• Experience with incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with safety management systems.
• Experience leading safety training or employee safety meetings.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspect facility operations to ensure safe practices and PPE usage.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses; identify trends and causes.
• Chairs the Safety Committee and coordinates safety training.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log and required safety reports.
• Coordinate forklift training and annual fire inspections.
• Monitor hearing conservation program and safety communications.
