Job Description

Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Pay rate: $28-35/HR

Location: Gainesville, VA

Position Summary

This position is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure the highest possible safety standards for employees. The Safety Coordinator will collaborate closely with Project Managers and the Field Operations Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff in human resources, operations, and research and development to promote safety.
• Provide technical safety and health support and information to production and corporate personnel.
• Prepare written safety and health programs and policies.
• Identify safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety training programs.
• Participate in new product/process reviews, including hazard analyses and operator training.
• Support field operations in selecting appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Promote safety awareness through memos, newsletters, and training programs.
• Participate in the occupational safety and health committee.
• Assist in implementing hazard communication programs and preparing reports.
• Review process procedures and records for safety considerations.
• Stay informed about federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitor changes.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and provide technical support to personnel.
• Advise on regulatory changes and ensure timely compliance.
• Conduct audits of job site practices and records for compliance.
• Monitor injury, illness, and worker’s compensation claims.
• Review safety meeting minutes and inspection reports, following up as needed.
• Review incident investigation reports and follow up as necessary.
