Job summary

Sheakley in St. George, SC is seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator for a 5-month, 1099 contractor role on a data center construction project.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction activities (on site).
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor conduit installation, electrical wiring, material handling operations, and elevated work activities.
• Review JHAs, AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
