Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator for a data center construction project in Asheville, OH. The role focuses on daily field safety oversight, coordinating with subcontractors and supervision to uphold OSHA-compliant safety practices across active construction areas.

You will maintain high-visibility engagement, perform site inspections and hazard assessments, and drive corrective actions to protect workers while supporting schedule and quality objectives.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
• 45 CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
• Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience preferred.
• Experience conducting field audits, inspections, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
• Ability to maintain a highly visible field presence on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for data center construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor subcontractor work activities and ongoing construction operations.
• Review JHAs, AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.

Construction Safety Coordinator

Location: Asheville, OH

Duration: 12-18 Months (Start: 10/5)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $52/hr

Per Diem: None

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 40 Hours Per Week

Additional Schedule Details: Possible Saturday work as construction activity ramps up throughout the project lifecycle.
