Sun Polymers is seeking a Safety Coordinator to work at our facility. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines. The Safety Coordinators main objective is to ensure a safe and productive working environment and prevent injury and incidents/accidents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Direct Safety procedures, including the development, implementation and monitoring of company safety programs and policies.
Lead the development of short- and long-term safety objectives and communicate goals to management.
Promote workplace safety through the development, maintenance and management of safety programs.
Maintains or develops reports and records both physical and electronic copies; Ensures all safety documents are up to date per document control
Directs activities related to safety programs and ensures compliance to include ensuring all employee training and certifications are current and current.
Ensures timely and accurate completion of incident/accident reports and that appropriate corrective actions are taken when health and safety risks exist.
Completes all regulatory reporting requirements
Conduct safety meetings and training for plant personnel
Conduct plant walks multiple times a day
Support onboarding and safety training.
Assist in other departments as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in related field
Ability to speak, read and write in English.
3-5 years of experience
Excellent communicator; must be able to interpret and convey information, ideas or policies to others
Proficient in conducting safety assessments to identify workplace hazards and develop control measures.
Extensive knowledge in conducting workplace safety and accident audits and investigations.
Demonstrate a broad technical understanding of safety principles, concepts, regulations and practices.
Ability to work alone or in a team.
Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, ISO and EEOC laws.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
