Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in Environmental, Health and Safety is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Willing to work extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency in basic math is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in compliance reviews, risk assessments and other safety assessments.
  • Maintain HSE logs and documentation and assist in regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare HSE reports and participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Promote incident prevention for employees and visitors.
  • Develop and present relevant HSE training.
  • Observe regulations, wear safety equipment and report hazards.
  • Work with staff to achieve cultural change and maintain relations with managers, employees, customers and regulators.
  • Administer and maintain compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, HWP, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.
  • Review and update Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and other operational docs.
  • Participate in safety efforts as directed by the manager.

Safety Coordinator

Indianapolis, IN, United States | req27764 12-hour shifts nights, rotating 2-2-3, 7:00pm - 07:30am

What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management
  • Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation is part of your role, as well as to assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations
  • You will prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary and participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis
  • Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors
  • Further, you will assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
  • Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel
  • You have the ability to work with employees and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance
  • In addition, you will maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies
  • Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, HWP, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc
  • You will perform additional duties as assigned by manager and comply with all company and HSE procedures and policies
  • Reviews,updates, and maintains JSA's, and other operational documentation are part of your role
  • Participatesin safety efforts as necessary or directed
