Job summary

Auto Driveaway is seeking a Safety Coordinator in Lombard, IL to audit HOS logs for our VT and TT divisions, ensuring accuracy and FMCSA compliance. The role partners with Safety and Operations to strengthen safety culture and drive continuous improvement.

You will coach drivers on logging practices, review records, and maintain DQ files while collaborating with dispatchers and leadership. Strong attention to detail and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; confident coaching drivers.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Audit driver Hours of Service (HOS) logs daily for accuracy and FMCSA compliance.
• Review electronic and paper logs with supporting records to identify violations and fatigue concerns.
• Document audit findings and elevate safety concerns to leadership; ensure corrective actions.
• Coach drivers on proper logging practices and HOS requirements; maintain audit records.
• Build relationships with drivers and dispatchers to support a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with safety and operations teams to improve processes across units.
• Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files and support safety clerical duties.
