Job summary

Auto Driveaway Systems, LLC in Lombard, IL is seeking a Safety Coordinator to audit HOS logs for our VT and TT divisions, ensuring accuracy and FMCSA compliance. The role involves coordinating with drivers and dispatchers daily to uphold safety standards.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at coaching drivers on logging practices, with experience in safety and compliance within transportation or logistics. This position reports to the Safety Department.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail to spot errors and inconsistencies in records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to coach drivers.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Audit driver Hours of Service (HOS) logs daily to ensure accuracy and compliance with FMCSA regulations and Auto Driveaway standards.
• Review and reconcile electronic and paper logs with supporting records to identify violations and fatigue concerns.
• Document audit findings and elevate safety concerns to leadership; ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Coach drivers on proper logging practices and HOS requirements; maintain audit records and safety metrics.
• Build positive relationships with drivers and dispatchers to support a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with safety and operations teams to develop continuous improvement processes across units.
• Track and maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files and support other safety duties as needed.
