Job summary

MV Transportation seeks a Safety Manager to lead programs and implement procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations, and to oversee Drive Cam and OSHA/CDL at the division level. Sets the tone for training compliance across divisions.

The role ensures manuals, audits, and safety culture are current, with leadership, communication, and hands-on management to prevent incidents. Strong safety emphasis and team coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent management experience at a transit bus property
• One-year accident/injury free driving experience
• Excellent communication and decision‑making skills
• Proven leadership abilities
• Extended transportation experience
• Experience teaching/instructing or public speaking
• Computer experience with safety software or databases

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety manuals, programs, policies, and practices are current and compliant
• Act as subject‑matter expert in EPA and OSHA; oversee CDL compliance
• Verify new hires meet minimum qualifications including background and DMV checks
• Utilize safety technology tools, analyze trends, and develop preventive plans
• Oversee safety incentives programs and Safe Points initiatives
• Promote a consistent safety culture across locations and departments
• Lead safety training, classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction as required
• Review accidents/incidents to identify causes and preventive measures
• Ensure training materials are up to date and inventories are secured
