Job summary

Safety Management Group (SMG) seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction for a Bridgeport, Alabama project. The role focuses on frontline safety in a data center construction environment, coordinating with electrical contractors to oversee safe work practices and compliance.

The position is day shift, with per diem for non-local candidates, premium pay after 40 billable hours, and a monthly road warrior benefit. Travel and schedule may vary; start times around early evening.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of construction safety experience required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• BSCP/CSP/CHST/STSC certifications preferred.
• Degree in safety or related field preferred.
• Experience overseeing electrical work or with an electrical contractor is a plus.
• First-aid/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site safety observations and document findings.
• Create reports, run safety metrics, and use safety software.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis.
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings.
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors.
• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings.
• Provide incident management and support.
• Documentation and report preparation.
• Conducts contractor program reviews.

SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in Bridgeport, Alabama – Day Shift - Per diem is available for this project.

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment.

This is a data center project. This person will be working with one of the electrical contractors; overseeing the safety of their employees.

Additional Information

• SMG full-time, benefitted Associates are eligible for Premium Pay after working 40 billable hours for the week. Premium pay is at a 1.35 multiplier.
• Per Diem is available for non-local candidates only. Per diem is $1,160/week for this project.
• This projects anticpated duration is around 2 months. Anticipated schedule is Mon-Saturday, up to 10 hours per day. Schedule could change. Hours may vary but expect a start time of 6pm.
• $400 Road Warrior Benefit each month.
• Annual pay/merit review/increase.

Requirements

• Five plus years of construction safety experience
• Bilingual preferred - English/Spanish
• BSCP Cert preferred - CSP, CHST, STSC, etc.
• A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
• Previous experience overseeing electrial work or an electrical contractor is a plus
• First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• OSHA 510
• OSHA 30hr - Construction
