Job summary

Safety Management Group (SMG) seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction for a Santa Teresa, NM project. The role involves prioritizing safety, working with a construction team, and overseeing safety for electrical contractors on a data center project.

Per diem is available for non-local candidates; anticipated project duration is about one year with 50-60 hours weekly. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401k with employer matching, paid holidays, life and disability insurance, and premium pay

Qualifications

• Five plus years of construction safety experience.
• BSCP certification or CSP/CHST/STSC preferred.
• A degree in safety or related fields is preferred.
• Experience overseeing electrical work or electrical contractors is a plus.
• First-aid/CPR certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
• OSHA 30-hour training is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site safety observations and documentation of findings.
• Create reports, run safety metrics, and use safety software.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis.
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings.
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures per laws, the Owner, and contractors.
• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings.
• Provide incident management support and documentation/report preparation.
• Conduct contractor program reviews.

SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in Santa Teresa, NM- Per diem is available for this project.

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self‑managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment.

This is a data center project. This person will be working with one of the electrical contractors; overseeing the safety of their employees.

Additional Information

• SMG full-time, benefitted Associates are eligible for Premium Pay after working 40 billable hours for the week. Premium pay is at a 1.35 multiplier.
• Per Diem is available for non-local candidates only. Per diem is $1,246/week for this project.
• This projects anticipated duration is around 1 year. Anticipated 50-60 hours weekly, schedule is subject to change.
• $400 Road Warrior Benefit each month.
• Annual pay/merit review/increase.
