Job summary

St. Joseph Parish Tucson seeks a Safe Environment Compliance Officer to monitor and enforce the Diocese of Tucson SE program, ensuring all staff and volunteers undergo criminal history checks and mandated training.

The role, reporting to the Pastor, involves maintaining compliance documentation and coordinating with the DOTHR and OCAAP to stay audit-ready. You will foster a culture of safety, protect vulnerable populations, and work collaboratively with parish staff and volunteers to uphold

Qualifications

• Must be in full communion with the Catholic Church.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with volunteers.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Safe Environment compliance plan.
• Ensure criminal history checks for employees and high-risk volunteers.
• Maintain roster of employees and volunteers.
• Ensure SE clearances are renewed timely.
• Educate new staff and volunteers on Safe Environment requirements.
• Audit-ready Safe Environment program at all times.
• Protect privacy and security of personnel records.
