Job summary

SchoolLinks is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations during a pivotal growth phase. You will own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, oversee reporting and compliance, and partner with the CFO to drive financial excellence across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, 3+ in leadership, CPA, and deep SaaS/GAAP expertise. A fast-paced startup mindset and a track record of building teams are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience at a venture-backed SaaS company (Series A-C preferred).
• CPA required; Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
• Deep GAAP, ASC 606 knowledge and SaaS subscription accounting.
• Experience with external audits and internal controls.
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Salesforce, Ramp and Excel.
• Excellent communication with non-finance stakeholders; team leadership.
• Track record of process improvements and systems implementation.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with timely, accurate reporting.
• Direct and scale the accounting function including recruiting and coaching.
• Manage day-to-day accounting ops: AP, AR, payroll, GL.
• Ensure ASC 606 compliance and GAAP guidance in all filings.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements and management reports.
• Lead annual audit and manage auditor relationships.
• Build and maintain internal controls.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relations, and treasury.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Oversee tax compliance at federal, state, and local levels.
• Lead and develop the accounting team and drive best practices.
• Evaluate and implement accounting systems to improve efficiency.
