Job summary

  • Comfortable using POS and handling event billing and cashiering.

THE TEAM

Our Private Dining & Banquets team is dedicated to creating exceptional event experiences that leave a lasting impression on our guests. Working closely with Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering and other operational departments, the team delivers seamless service across a variety of functions and special events. Reporting to the Banquets Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring service excellence while supporting the success and development of banquet associates.

YOUR ROLE

As Banquets Captain, you will oversee the execution of assigned events, ensuring service standards are consistently delivered and guest expectations are exceeded. You will lead, train and support banquet staff, coordinate event operations, and serve as a key point of contact throughout functions. Through strong leadership, attention to detail and a passion for hospitality, you will help create memorable experiences that reflect Rosewood’s commitment to excellence.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE
  • Supervise, coach and support banquet associates to ensure exceptional service standards are maintained throughout every event.
  • Coordinate event preparation, set-up, service execution and breakdown in accordance with departmental procedures and guest requirements.
  • Conduct pre-service briefings and communicate function details, assignments, special requests and operational updates to the team.
  • Partner with Culinary, Stewarding and Engineering teams to ensure all menu, equipment and service requirements are delivered seamlessly.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout events, proactively addressing requests and resolving concerns in a professional manner.
  • Ensure banquet rooms, buffets, bars and service stations are properly prepared, presented and maintained to hotel standards.
  • Assign and coordinate staff responsibilities, stations and breaks while maintaining efficient service flow throughout functions.
  • Support training and development initiatives while providing feedback and operational updates to Banquets leadership.

  • You have experience delivering banquet, private dining or event service within a luxury hospitality or fine dining environment.
  • You are a confident team leader who can motivate colleagues, delegate responsibilities and maintain a collaborative work environment.

  • You are highly detail-oriented and committed to maintaining exceptional service, presentation and operational standards.

  • You communicate clearly and effectively with guests, colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • You are comfortable using point-of-sale systems and handling event-related billing and cashiering responsibilities.
  • You hold, or are willing to obtain, any required alcohol service certification and are eligible to serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with local regulations.
