Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, MD seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support ruggedized electronic equipment development for military applications. The candidate will work within the Hardware Engineering organization, leading teams, managing schedules and budgets, and solving complex problems across the product life cycle.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance and work on secure programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience; Master’s degree with 0 years; 4 years may be substituted for degree.
• 2 years of experience in ruggedized electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical hardware design.
• 2 years of experience with mechanical CAD tools such as Siemens NX or similar.
• 2 years of experience leading and reviewing technical work products of peers.
• 2 years of experience presenting at design reviews and customer/stakeholder briefings.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams and interface with multiple disciplines, management, and customers.
• Manage schedule and budget for assigned projects and communicate issues affecting goals.
• Develop requirements analysis, concept design, detailed design, manufacture, and environmental test.
• Contribute to knowledge transfer and process improvement within the organization.
