PrizePicks is seeking a Software Engineer III with strong Ruby on Rails expertise to join our Gamification team. In this role, you will own feature development within Rails-based backend services that power our platform—earning rewards, incentives, and our loyalty program.

You will guide junior engineers, influence architecture, and collaborate with Product, Design, and QA in a fully remote environment. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience delivering complex features within a software team.
• Ability to break down ambiguous requirements into concrete plans.
• Experience with high-throughput distributed systems and real-time apps.

Responsibilities

• Own feature development end-to-end from design to delivery.
• Write idiomatic, well-tested Ruby on Rails code.
• Contribute to data modeling, API design, and background processing patterns.
• Improve code quality, performance, and team DX.
• Guide junior engineers through reviews and pairing sessions.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to align goals and implementation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and root-cause analyses.
• Document decisions and service patterns for team knowledge.
