Job summary

HID Global in Eden Prairie, MN, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer I. You will handle HID RTLS product questions via phone, email, and remote sessions, diagnose issues with location accuracy, connectivity, and device behavior, and document everything in Salesforce while ensuring SLA compliance.

You will support healthcare and industrial RTLS use cases, provide product guidance, and escalate to Engineering when needed. A high school diploma is required with preferred technical studies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; AA/AS in technical subject preferred or 1–2 years in RTLS/IoT.
• Experience with RTLS, RFID, BLE, IoT technologies is preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare/industrial enterprise software customers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Resolve HID product questions and technical issues via telephone, email, and remote sessions.
• Troubleshoot RTLS-related issues: location accuracy, reader/gateway connectivity, badge/tag behavior, and alerting workflows.
• Maintain knowledge of HID product offerings and support procedures.
• Document customer interactions in Salesforce CRM and ensure SLA compliance.
• Escalate to Engineering and participate in after-hours support for critical incidents.
• Serve as technical point of contact for customers, sales teams, and prospects.
• Advise on resolution of technical issues affecting sales, installation, or operation.
• Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the Support organization.
