Job summary

The City of New Orleans is seeking an IT professional to install, support, and maintain servers and related systems, with a focus on the Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) data sources. You will respond to outages and act as a technical expert for ongoing integrations.

Responsibilities include reporting to management, standardizing incident procedures, and developing policies on records retention, backups, and data center environments. Experience with Windows Server, Exchange, and VMware is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or a closely related discipline.
2 years of progressively responsible experience in a data center or system environment with provisioning, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure OR
6 years of progressively responsible experience in a data center or system environment with provisioning, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Present reports on performance to managers and executives.
Standardize incident identification, tracking, and reporting procedures.
Brainstorm and formalize policies to ensure performance goals; areas include records retention, data center environment, testing procedures, and backups.
Set-up and maintain multiple systems including Windows Server, Exchange, and VMware.
Analyze system faults, troubleshoot, and run diagnostics on OS and hardware.
Responsible for storage hardware (HDD and tape).
Initiate preventive maintenance and repair environment-related problems.
Perform related tasks as required.
