Job summary

The City of New Orleans seeks a highly responsible supervisor to manage computer networks and systems for the Sewerage and Water Board. You will provide technical expertise, coordinate with vendors, and oversee hardware, software, and network activities within a complex utility environment.

This role includes budget development, procurement oversight, drafting bids and RFPs, and ensuring timely problem solving, reporting, and compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, GIS, telecommunications or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a technical environment.
Or nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in a technical environment including web development, budget development and management, IT procurement, drafting bids/RFPs, and monitoring and reporting.

Responsibilities

Manage computer networks and systems and provide technical expertise for hardware, software, and network activities.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors and oversee procurement for information technology.
Develop budgets, monitor fiscal performance, and draft technical bids and RFP specifications.
Provide problem-solving assistance and prepare regular reporting on IT activities.
