Job summary

Alexander Youth Network is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to support children in a treatment environment in Greensboro, NC. This part-time position emphasizes direct care, development of therapeutic activities, and crisis monitoring, with opportunities for advancement.

The role requires a high school diploma, with a BA/BS in a related field preferred, and 4 years of mental health experience preferred. You will work within a supportive team and benefit from various employee perks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• BA/BS in a related human service field is preferred.
• Four years of experience in Mental Health is preferred.
• Ability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Provide, coordinate, and monitor a variety of direct care activities for the clients in our treatment environment.
• Develop, implement, and facilitate therapeutic activities consistent with the agency's Model of Care.
• Offer appropriate interventions to assist in maintaining consumer baseline behaviors.
• Provide continuous monitoring of clients in crisis and report behaviors to therapeutic and medical staff.
• Participate in 1 to 1 monitoring of clients when deemed appropriate.
