Job summary

Alexander Youth Network in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to support children in our treatment environment. You will provide, coordinate, and monitor direct care activities and help implement therapeutic activities aligned with our Model of Care.

You will monitor clients in crisis, deliver appropriate interventions, and participate in one-on-one monitoring when needed. The position offers growth opportunities, mentorship, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• B.A./B.S. in a related human service field is preferred.
• Four years of experience in Mental Health is preferred.
• Ability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Provide, coordinate, and monitor direct care activities for clients in the treatment environment.
• Develop, implement, and facilitate therapeutic activities aligned with the agency's Model of Care.
• Offer appropriate interventions to assist in maintaining consumer baseline behaviors.
• Provide continuous monitoring of clients in crisis and report behaviors to therapeutic and medical staff.
• You will also participate in 1 to 1 monitoring of clients when deemed appropriate.
