Job summary

Alexander Youth Network in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor dedicated to helping children overcome mental health challenges. You will provide, coordinate, and monitor direct care activities within our treatment environment and help implement the agency's Model of Care.

The role requires a high school diploma (BS preferred) and experience in mental health. You will monitor clients in crisis, report to staff, and participate in 1-to-1 observations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• B.A./B.S. in a related human service field is preferred.
• Four years of experience in Mental Health is preferred.
• Ability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Provide, coordinate, and monitor a variety of direct care activities for the clients in our treatment environment.
• Develop, implement, and facilitate therapeutic activities consistent with the agency's Model of Care.
• You'll offer appropriate interventions to assist in maintaining consumer baseline behaviors.
• You will also participate in continuous monitoring of clients in crisis and report behaviors to therapeutic and medical staff.
• You will also participate in 1 to 1 monitoring of clients when deemed appropriate.
