Job summary

University Hospitals Urgent Care is seeking a Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to perform high-complexity testing, including RT-qPCR, and to ensure accurate results and compliance within a fast-paced clinical lab.

The role requires a relevant degree (Bachelor’s or Associate) and lab training; candidates should be detail-oriented, able to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays, and proficient with EMR systems. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered in Ohio.

Qualifications

• CLIA, CMS, and COLA eligibility for high-complexity testing.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree as specified plus 60+ credits with 24 science hours.
• 3+ months documented lab training in each tested specialty; RT-qPCR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of lab tests including RT-qPCR and high-complexity testing.
• Receive, accession, and process specimens; troubleshoot collection/processing issues.
• Execute and document QC procedures and corrective actions per protocols.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instruments and equipment as needed.
• Verify and report results in EMR and instrument software; ensure timely reporting.
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA, COLA and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and accuracy.
