Job summary

The Ohio State University seeks a Medical Technologist to support the Critical Care Laboratory IRP at University Hospital Rhodes Hall. The position works intermittently, performing routine automated and manual tests and reporting results as part of a dynamic team.

Updates to QC values and troubleshooting are part of daily duties. Candidates must hold a 4-year degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with ASCP/AMT/MLS certification or be eligible.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or higher.
• ASCP/AMT/MLS certification or eligibility required.
• Ability to work in a 24-hour laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine automated and manual testing in the Critical Care Lab.
• Verify and report test requests; review quality control values.
• Troubleshoot analyzers and test methods as needed.
• Call critical values and communicate results to internal/external staff.
• Handle pre-analytical issues and assist with problem solving.
