Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to manage respiratory therapy, ventilator care and related procedures in a dynamic clinical setting. You will perform ECGs, oxygen administration, airway management and respond to emergencies as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires NBRC certification and an RCP license within the required jurisdiction, with sign-on and relocation bonuses available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy or equivalent required.
• NBRC certification required.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) within 6 months (Peoria, IL requires IDFPR license).
• NRP within 1 year is preferred or required by AAP/NRP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities for all forms of respiratory therapy.
• Interprets and executes physician orders.
• Individualizes therapy to meet patient needs.
• Notify leaders of any inappropriate patient care issues.
• Documents all medication and patient care events.
• Maintains infection control and proper hand hygiene.
• Performs ventilator checks and documents settings.
• Educates students and health professionals about ventilator functions.
• Coordinates with physicians to improve patient care.
