Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide patient assessments and advanced respiratory care for neonatal and adult patients. The role includes equipment maintenance, blood gas analysis, and family education.

This position requires neonatal care experience, NBRC registration, state licensure, and current BCLS/ACLS/NRP certifications, with self-scheduling for 7p–7a shifts.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences.
• Experience in Neonatal respiratory care or completed department orientation with competencies.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and NRP; active practice in both adult and neonatal areas.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and respiratory care procedures for adult and neonatal patients.
• Maintains and manages respiratory equipment; analyzes blood gases and educates patients and families.
• Provides neonatal respiratory care in Labor and Delivery and ensures competency in required certifications.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs patient assessments, general and critical care respiratory care procedures, respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery, blood gas analysis and interpretation, maintenance and management of equipment and patient and family education in both adult and neonatal areas.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Previous Working Experience in Neonatal Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and NRP. Must be actively practicing and maintaining all required competencies in both adult and neonatal areas.
