Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver direct respiratory care per physician orders and approved protocols. You will ventilate patients, monitor life-support equipment, and consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness.

You’ll document results, perform blood analyses, and communicate with the multi-disciplinary team. Requires NC license, BLS, and critical care experience per policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate's RRT or RRT equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina.
• BLS certification required; advanced certifications per facility policy.
• For ED/ Virtual Critical Care, 2 years of critical care experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care per physician orders and protocols.
• Monitor and manage ventilators and life-support equipment.
• Consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and recommendations.
• Document therapy outcomes and communicate with health-care team.
• Perform blood sampling analysis and interpret values.
• Work independently across patient care areas and use EMR systems.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and complete regulatory requirements.
