Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care, including oxygen delivery, ventilator management, and emergency airway support. The role requires NBRC-credentialed RRT and state licensure, with BLS, and facility-specific certifications.

You will document therapies, collaborate with the care team, and participate in safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC and licensed in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required.
• Advanced certification per facility/department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; conducts prescribed therapy to achieve adequate oxygenation.
• Administers therapeutic procedures with understanding of purpose, benefits, and effects; performs diagnostic procedures as policy.
• Initiates, monitors, and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; aware of critical care duties and effects.
• Evaluates therapies using judgment and protocols; makes recommendations on plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapies and results; communicates with care team as required.
• Initiates and adjusts respiratory techniques in emergencies; conducts blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
• Works independently across patient care areas; proficient in EMR and interface with Respiratory Care.
• Follows safety guidelines; completes regulatory requirements; annual proficiency on equipment/procedures.
