Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide direct respiratory care per physician orders and approved protocols. The role includes ventilator support, therapy evaluation, and collaboration with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will hold an AMA-approved Respiratory Care credential, NC licensure, BLS, and 2 years of critical care experience, with a possible sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate's RRT or RRT equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of North Carolina.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Advanced certifications per facility policy/standards; 2 years critical care experience for Emergency Department/Virtual Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment; conducts prescribed procedures to achieve oxygenation.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates current therapies and recommends plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with the healthcare team.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
• Works independently across patient care areas and uses EMR effectively.
• Follows safety guidelines and regulatory requirements; completes annual proficiency evaluations.
