Atrium Health Pineville Respiratory Therapy Services is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist to support varied shifts with a focus on oxygen delivery, ventilator management, and patient education. Role requires NBRC RRT credential, current state license, BLS, and CCU experience for certain shifts.

The position involves independent patient care across departments, documentation in EMR, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as an RRT by NBRC; licensed in the state; BLS for healthcare providers required; advanced certification per facility.
• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy; Associate degree required; BA/BS preferred.
• For ED: 2 years critical care experience required; new grads with RRT credentials eligible.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and associated equipment; performs prescribed therapies for adequate oxygenation.
• Administers therapeutic procedures, monitors effects, and performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; understands critical care duties involved.
• Evaluates current therapies independently and makes recommendations on care plans and patient education.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with the healthcare team.
• Performs and evaluates blood sampling analysis and discusses results with team.
• Works independently in patient care areas; proficient in EMR interfaces.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements; annual proficiency evaluations.
