Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist for a full-time night-shift role. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnography, CPAP/BiPAP testing, and sleep studies, under supervision of the clinical director.

Qualified candidates have RPSGT certification, Iowa licensure, and completion of an accredited polysomnography program or a 1-year program with proper credentials. BRPT eligibility within 24 months and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification is required.
• Must be licensed by the State of Iowa as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
• Completion of an accredited program leading to an associate degree in polysomnography.
• Alternatively, completion of a polysomnography program of at least one year with state/national accreditation.
• BRPT board eligibility within 24 months of hire.
• Maintain RPSGT credential and Iowa licensure through ongoing education.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze patient information.
• Verify documentation and physician orders.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing and ensure proper functioning.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnography including CPAP/BIPAP, MSLT, and MWT.
• Perform CPAP downloads for clinic visits as directed.
• Document sleep stages, events, and procedural changes for scoring and interpretation.
• Maintain sleep systems and perform routine equipment upkeep.
• Score polysomnography data and generate reports.
