Job summary

Mercy health system seeks a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) for a full-time night shift. You will conduct overnight sleep studies, apply electrodes, score studies, and report findings under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred graduate of an accredited Polysomnography program.
• Previous experience performing polysomnographic testing and sleep study scoring.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, calibrate, and maintain sleep study equipment.
• Apply electrodes and sensors according to AASM standards.
• Conduct overnight polysomnographic studies, including CPAP/BiPAP titration studies, split-night studies, and MSLT.
• Monitor patients during studies and respond to sleep-related events and emergencies.
• Score sleep studies and generate detailed reports in accordance with AASM guidelines.
• Educate patients on sleep disorders, PAP therapy, and equipment usage.
• Ensure equipment functionality and infection prevention protocols are followed.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and patient interactions in the EMR.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
